In line with transformation, we are excited to advertise a Band 7 Clinical Psychology role in our Paediatric Psychology Service based in North Devon. This is a 0.7 WTE role providing maternity cover for a period of one year. We are passionate about our work and are committed to providing high quality services across Devon to improve outcomes for children and young people. We would love to hear from experienced and newly qualifying colleagues seeking a new role in children's services. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be offering high-quality psychological care to children and young people experiencing significant and complex mental health difficulties and their families. You will bring advanced formulation skills and consultation to your team alongside wider service development contributions. You will have regular clinical supervision and separate line management. You will be supported with a job plan and opportunities to develop supervision and leadership skills alongside using research skills and engaging in service development. There is a strong and friendly network of Clinical Psychologists working across CFHD, enjoying shared CPD and professional support. The Paediatric Psychology Service aims to support children and young people to manage the psychological impact of living with a physical health diagnosis as part of their paediatrician-led care. Key objectives include reduced levels of distress associated with the medical condition and/or treatment, adjustment to living with a health condition, improved quality of life and collaborative working to improve treatment adherence and active participation in health management. The service is delivered within both inpatient and outpatient hospital provision. About us The objectives of the service include: Reduced psychological distress and functional impact of health condition and/or treatment Improved treatment adherence and adjustment to health condition Improved individual and/or family function in relation to wider impact of health condition and/or treatment Improvements in psychological wellbeing and combined health/mental health outcomes Comprehensive Psychological Assessment Collaborative Psychological Formulations to inform understanding and intervention Identification and delivery of appropriate Intervention model and patient-identified goals Provision of psychologically informed resources/information and wider service signposting Referral on to partner agencies where required/necessary e.g. Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services; ASC (Autism) Pathway
