The Devon Partnership NHS Trust is offering a Band 7 Clinical Psychologist position within the Paediatric Psychology Service in Barnstaple, North Devon, aimed at supporting children and young people with complex mental health difficulties related to physical health conditions. This 0.7 WTE role, providing maternity cover for one year, involves delivering high-quality psychological care, advanced formulation, and consultation, while contributing to service development alongside a supportive team of professionals. The service prioritizes reducing psychological distress, enhancing treatment adherence, and improving overall quality of life for young patients and their families.

Candidates, whether experienced or newly qualifying, will have access to regular clinical supervision, leadership skill development opportunities, and a collaborative working environment with a strong network of Clinical Psychologists. The role includes conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, formulating collaborative interventions, and facilitating referrals to partner agencies as needed, with a focus on improving psychological wellbeing within both inpatient and outpatient settings.

In line with transformation, we are excited to advertise a Band 7 Clinical Psychology role in our Paediatric Psychology Service based in North Devon. This is a 0.7 WTE role providing maternity cover for a period of one year.

As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be offering high-quality psychological care to children and young people experiencing significant and complex mental health difficulties and their families. You will bring advanced formulation skills and consultation to your team alongside wider service development contributions.

You will have regular clinical supervision and separate line management. You will be supported with a job plan and opportunities to develop supervision and leadership skills alongside using research skills and engaging in service development. There is a strong and friendly network of Clinical Psychologists working across CFHD, enjoying shared CPD and professional support.

The Paediatric Psychology Service aims to support children and young people to manage the psychological impact of living with a physical health diagnosis as part of their paediatrician-led care. Key objectives include reduced levels of distress associated with the medical condition and/or treatment, adjustment to living with a health condition, improved quality of life and collaborative working to improve treatment adherence and active participation in health management. The service is delivered within both inpatient and outpatient hospital provision.
