Leeds Teaching Hospitals is seeking a motivated Medical Secretary for the Respiratory Medicine department at St. James's Hospital. The role involves providing administrative support to Lung Cancer Consultants and Nurse Specialists, which includes managing telephone inquiries, data entry, preparing clinical correspondence, scheduling outpatient appointments, and handling post. Key requirements for successful candidates include strong communication skills, the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment, and a commitment to delivering high standards of patient care. Experience in patient administration and familiarity with the Patient Administration System (PAS) are advantageous.

In addition to general secretarial duties, the Medical Secretary will be responsible for audio typing, managing appointments, responding to test results, liaising with various medical staff, and maintaining organized patient records. The position also includes training support for other staff members and ensuring adherence to Trust policies.
