Do you have experience of working across organisational and professional boundaries whilst providing abortion and sexual health services?

We're looking for a Quality Matron to come and join our clinical department at BPAS. Reporting into the Quality and Patient Experience Lead, the Quality Matron will be responsible for ensuring BPAS maintains and delivers high quality care in accordance with its policies and National Guidance.

You will identify areas of improvement and support BPAS in implementing national initiatives and maintaining CQC registration through the inspection process. Working with other Quality Matrons, the main areas of responsibility across the organisation will be medicine management, infection prevention and control, audit, learning and development and ensuring a competent clinical workforce.

This is a full time role working 36 hours a week over Monday-Friday. Based at home with regular travel required across our North East units -Doncaster, York, Leeds, Dewsbury, Bradford, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, South Shields, Nottingham West, and Nottingham City.


About You

You'll be a registered Adult Nurse or Midwife who has sound clinical knowledge & experience of delivering high quality, safe patient care as well as having practical experience of providing abortion and sexual health services. You'll be an innovator, with a positive can do attitude & be highly motivated & resourceful, with a practical approach to problem solving.

You'll also bring:

  • Experience of the management of change and carrying out audit and monitoring standards of care
  • Excellent negotiating and influencing skills to manage difficult/stressful situations and conversations
  • Knowledge and understanding of clinical governance and risk management
  • Able to assimilate, analyse and present complex problems and data, identify necessary action, make recommendations, and ensure actions are followed up.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of quality improvement skills across nursing and midwifery.

  • Take an active role in the investigation and reporting of clinical incidents (including Serious Untoward Incident Investigations) and the development of strategies and tools to ensure lessons are learned and practice improved.

  • Work closely with staff to provide practical guidance and training to ensure consistent application of new and existing guidelines, policies and procedures as well as service developments.

  • To ensure BPAS maintains the standards of medicines management across the organisation and supports Lead Nurses/Midwives in monitoring standards and investigating errors.

Shift Pattern:
36 hours per week | Monday to Thursday 09:00-17:00 and Friday 09:00-15:30


Salary:
£52,650 to 58,650 per annum, depending on skills, qualifications and experience. Plus an additional £5100 Car Allowance.


Location:
Home based, however this role will involve extensive travel to others sites, including some overnight stays, and working additional hours as necessary.

This role is covering our North East region -Doncaster, York, Leeds, Dewsbury, Bradford, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, South Shields, Nottingham West, and Nottingham City.
