Job Summary: Quality Matron - North East (Home-Based)

The British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) is seeking an experienced Adult Nurse or Midwife for the full-time role of Quality Matron, focused on ensuring high-quality care across its North East units, including Doncaster, York, and Newcastle. Reporting to the Quality and Patient Experience Lead, the Quality Matron will oversee areas such as medicine management, infection control, auditing, and workforce competency, while also driving quality improvement and implementing national initiatives to maintain CQC compliance.

Key responsibilities include supporting staff training, investigating clinical incidents, managing change, and promoting clinical governance. The position requires strong leadership, negotiation skills, and the ability to analyze complex data effectively.

The role demands regular travel within the North East and may include overnight stays.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Registered Adult Nurse or Midwife
  • Clinical experience in abortion and sexual health services
  • Proven track record in quality care management and audit
  • Must support pro-choice values and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and other healthcare-related conditions.

Salary: £52,650 - £58,650 per annum, plus a £5,100 car allowance.
