An exciting opportunity has arisen for a radiologist to join our team at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospital Trust as a speciality grade doctor.
This is primarily a general cross-sectional imaging post with some sessions in general/ subspecialty ultrasound. The post holder would support the current radiology team working closely with the specialists and will be encouraged and supported for developing a subspecialty interest like neuro- head and neck, cardiothoracic, gastrointestinal and musculoskeletal imaging.
There are weekly MDTs which also serve as an educational resource for trainees and allied health professionals. MDTs are shared amongst specialist Radiologists. Contribution to specialist cancer MDTs and smaller no-cancer MDTs is expected out of this post.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSTRole requirementso The post is designed to share the responsibility for the provision of comprehensive diagnostic radiology services including the provision of a range of MDT and on-call services.o The post holder will share an office with another colleague which at the present is variable post covido The successful candidate is expected to report cross-sectional images performed on the new MRI and CT scanners at the CDC, King George's and Queen's Hospital as well as from A&E and Inpatiento Contribute to the general duty roster which involves vetting cross-sectional scans and solving queries from clinical and radiology teamso The post holder is expected to contribute to the specialist and general MDTs with other colleagues in rotation.o It is mandatory to share an oncall commitment equally with existing consultants. Currently, there is a 1:11 rota. The oncall is outsourced after 8 pm on weekdays and 6 pm on weekendso No intervention skills are expected in this post

To attend and participate in operational and clinical meetings where these are deemed essential to the running of the department and/or service To acquire and maintain the required level of evidence-based practice within your area of special interest To comply with all the trust and departmental policies in relation to job planning, appraisal and leave. To deputize for an absent consultant or associate specialist colleague on occasions where this is necessary to complete core services in a timely manner Ensure prompt attendance at agreed direct clinical care programmed activities.
