The Essex & Herts Air Ambulance is seeking a Consultant in Pre-hospital Emergency Critical Care (HEMS) in Colchester to enhance its medical leadership and training capabilities. This 12-month fixed-term position, with the potential for annual renewal, entails a job plan of 3 PAs, incorporating approximately 30 clinical shifts per year, alongside 10 non-clinical days, spread over early, day, and night shifts at both airbases. The role focuses on delivering high-quality medical care, offering supervision, training, and mentorship to non-consultant doctors and paramedics, while also engaging in clinical governance, service development, and continuing professional development.

Candidates will be responsible for ensuring the provision of excellent pre-hospital critical care, participating in case reviews, and collaborating on audit and research initiatives. They will also contribute to the organisation's charitable activities and support its aims to maintain outstanding service quality as recognized by the Care Quality Commission. The role requires adherence to national standards and local protocols while advocating for the organisation's values and mission in emergency critical care.
