An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Corporate Health and Safety team. We are looking to recruit an experienced Health and Safety Adviser. This is a full time position working Monday to Friday.
This role will form an integral part of the Team and provide competent health and safety advice on all matters of health and safety to all levels of managers and employees within the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board as required, and promote high standards of health and safety for all employees across all areas of the Health Board.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working within the field of health and safety. They will have experience of being actively involved in the development, delivery and implementation of all health and safety policies and procedures and they will help to oversee the day to day operational management of health and safety for the Health Board, whilst fully supporting all legislative compliance.

Provide specialist health and safety advice, guidance and support
Review incidents reported,providing feedback to reporter and identifying incidents requiring further investigation
Liaison with other Health Board advisors, advising them of incidents and ensuring that there is a consistent approach to health and safety matters
Liaise with all levels of management and staff throughout the Health Board
Design and deliver health and safety training
Promote a positive safety culture throughout the Health Board
Review and produce written policies, guidance, information leaflets and reports on health and safety; interpreting and advising on health and safety law in a way which complies with legal requirements and reflects the Health Board's systems and improves safety culture
Participate in health and safety projects in the wider field of risk management, providing reports for consideration at relevant Committees and Groups
Provide advice and guidance to managers, risk leads and assessors to ensure the undertaking of assessments of health and safety risks and that these are managed in accordance with Health Board policy
Provide advice to clinical staff about use of manual handling equipment and techniques
Carry out health and safety investigations ensuring appropriate management action is taken in response to any reported situation which may constitute a breach of health and safety legislation or may possibly results in enforcement action or legal proceedings
