Band 6 to 7 Progression Pharmacist


Location

- Newham, London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our expanding pharmacy team to provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services across mental health specialties. Experience in mental health would be an advantage, but not essential for the right candidate with a keen interest in this area. Ideally you will already hold apost-graduate qualification in clinical / mental health pharmacy, but we can support the right candidate with this if you are newly qualified. We will provide in-house training to upskill in areas identified for development.

We welcome applications from newly qualified, band 6 or equivalent pharmacists. Applicants may be employed directly at a Band 7 level if they demonstrate the necessary skills and experience. There will also be opportunities to support training to become an independent prescriber.

You will be joining a progressive and developing team and your core duties will be:

  • To deliver a comprehensive medicines optimisation service to inpatient services, mental health community teams and community health services based within the Newham directorate and when required to provide this service to other wards across ELFT.

To provide input into policy and procedures affecting the use of pharmaceuticals at both local and trust wide levels under the direction of the Clinical Lead/Lead Pharmacist.

To liaise with other pharmacy staff to support an effective dispensing and supply service.

To deputise for the Clinical Lead/Lead Pharmacist in his or her absence.

To provide a single accessible point of contact for the Home Treatment Team (HTT).

You will be a member of the ELFT pharmacy team and regularly meet and work with pharmacists and technicians from other localities in the Trust. You will also work on the in-patient wards with other multiprofessionals in delivering care
