The Central London Community Health Trust is seeking a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join the Biborough SLT education team, working in the inner London boroughs of Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea. The role involves managing a diverse caseload of school-aged children and young people, providing assessment, diagnosis, and intervention to support their speech and language communication needs. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills, demonstrate enthusiasm for working with children, and have experience in educational settings.

Responsibilities include collaborating with children, families, and professionals, offering advice on clinical management, and contributing to statutory assessments of special educational needs as outlined in the Children and Families Act 2014. The successful candidate is expected to maintain accountability for their professional actions, understand the legal responsibilities regarding special educational needs, and deliver services as specified in children’s Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Working with increasing independence to provide assessment, diagnosis, appropriate intervention and discharge for children within the roleWorking closely with children, families and other professionals, providing advice to others regarding the clinical management to support children and young people as relevant to the post.Supporting the delivery of a wide range of school aged intervention packages in relation to the whole system approach to supporting speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) within designated locality community & school settingsUnderstanding and meeting professional and legal SEND responsibilities outlined in the Children and Families Act 2including contributing to statutory assessments of special educational needs and delivery of Speech and Language Therapy provision as specified in children's Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).Maintaining accountability for own professional actions and recognise own professional boundaries, seeking advice from senior colleagues as appropriate.
