Trust Wide Clinical Lead NHS Talking Therapies for Anxiety and Depression: Consultant Clinical or Counselling Psychologist Or Talking Therapies Psychological Professional
We have a unique and exciting opportunity for an established, innovative Senior Clinical / Counselling Psychologist (or an NHS Talking Therapies Psychological Therapist with equivalent training and experience) to take a Trust wide clinical lead for our six highly regarded NHS Talking Therapies Services.You will have substantial Consultant level experience (or equivalent) leading psychological services and a detailed understanding NHS Talking Therapies services. The role involves leading the transformation of six large, dynamic and innovative Talking Therapies Services in diverse inner London boroughs and in Milton Keynes. Candidates will have strong clinical and leadership qualities and experience, a commitment to delivering high quality psychological therapy services and a passion for challenging health inequalities and discrimination. The services are at the forefront of developments in Talking Therapies employing Physical Activity Coordinators, Community Engagement Managers and piloting Digital Front Door approaches in addition to the usual Talking Therapies roles. You would be joining us at a time of significant change in investment in Talking Therapies nationally that will deliver improved outcomes for service users.

To provide expertise and be responsible for the provision of a highly specialist Talking Therapies services
To take a lead in the effective working of the service and ensure a psychologically informed framework for the service area.
To select and administer highly specialist psychological assessments, interpreting and integrating highly complex data drawn from several sources
To be expert in the skilled administration of psychometric tests, including skilled manipulation of test materials; and to be able to supervise others in administration of psychometric tests.
To provide expert psychological reports, including relevant formulation, opinion and interventions, in order to inform referrers and, where appropriate, service users.
To respond appropriately and professionally to emotionally distressing situations in Talking Therapies and other services and to support others involved in such situations.
To select and deliver evidence based psychological treatments, monitor outcome and modify and adapt interventions, drawing on a range of theoretical options.
To work as an independent and autonomous professional within BPS guidelines and Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) [or other relevant professional body] guidelines and the policies and procedures of the service, taking full responsibility for own work including treatment and discharge decisions.
