This post is for a Consultant Anesthetist. Duties will be at Watford General Hospital (WGH) and St Albans City Hospital (SACH).
This post will include sessions and experience in a variety of surgical specialties, with an opportunity to develop further special interests, contribute to departmental teaching, development of policies and procedures and any further Quality Improvement projects.
You will be expected to work shifts covering 7:45 am to 9:00 pm; Monday to Friday and weekend working may be required on a rota basis. The total PAs, including SPAs and administrative time, will be approximately 10. This post contains Flexible Sessions where the post holder will be required to cover any sessions within their competency.
Candidates will be able to provide safe anaesthesia for paediatric and adult patients across a wide range of surgical specialties, in both elective and emergency settings include Obstetrics.

Candidates will demonstrate extensive experience in a wide range of Anaesthetic specialties equivalent to a UK CCT in Anaesthesia. Experience in Pre-op Assessment, sedation techniques, ECT and remote site anaesthesia.
Candidates must have leadership skills appropriate to participating and leading a multidisciplinary team. They must demonstrate good written, verbal and interpersonal communications and a commitment to professional development and Clinical Governance
