University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Scientist for a full-time, 23-month fixed term position at the Wessex Genomics Laboratory Service in Salisbury. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in cancer genetics, with essential skills in G-banding analysis, FISH, and variant interpretation. Although experience with whole genome sequencing (WGS) is desirable, it is not mandatory. The role emphasises patient-centered service through the accurate analysis and reporting of genomic data, which aids in patient management decisions.

Key responsibilities include data analysis, interpretation, and reporting of genomic results from various testing methods, as well as involvement in training and collaboration with healthcare professionals. Applicants should be HCPC registered with substantial diagnostic laboratory experience, strong communication skills for effective multidisciplinary collaboration, and a solid understanding of quality control procedures and UKAS standards.
