The role of Recovery Practitioner in Urology Theatres at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust involves providing post-operative care for urology and gynaecology patients in a busy recovery unit equipped with multiple recovery bays. The position requires specialty training in post-operative care, including pain management, wound care, and admission processes using systems like NerveCentre. Responsibilities include immediate post-operative recovery, administering medications, managing discharges, and possibly mentoring students. The unit typically operates Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, with some flexibility needed for late shifts and possible work across various recovery areas within the trust.

The ideal candidate will be focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and will actively contribute to enhancing the professional practice within the Clinical Support Division. Skills such as cannulation, venepuncture, ECG, and care of epidurals and PCA infusions are beneficial, as the role may require managing patients receiving chemotherapy and coordinating outpatient appointments and district nurse referrals upon discharge.
