The Hospital Liaison Substance Misuse Worker role with The Alcohol & Drug Service (ADS) in Doncaster involves working collaboratively within a team that is part of the Hospital Mental Health Liaison service at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. The position focuses on engaging individuals facing substance use challenges in both inpatient wards and the Accident and Emergency department, providing vital services such as risk and needs assessments, brief interventions, and facilitating access to specialist treatment services. The goal is to support positive change and reduce future hospital visits among affected individuals.

Candidates should possess a relevant degree (e.g., psychology, sociology, social work) or equivalent qualifications in adult care. Experience in the field is valued, and the ADS offers training opportunities for those without formal qualifications. The service operates seven days a week, so the role requires flexibility and the ability to work on a rota basis. The ADS is dedicated to diversity, fair treatment, and making a significant impact on the lives of people affected by substance misuse.
