Hospital Liaison Substance Misuse Worker with The Alcohol & Drug Service in Doncaster, South Yorkshire
The Hospital Liaison Substance Misuse Team is a partnership between ADS and Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH). The substance misuse team are a part of the wider Hospital Mental Health Liaison service based at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.It is a very exciting time to be working in the drug and alcohol field with significant new career opportunities being created. The Alcohol & Drug Service (ADS) are a registered charity who have been transforming the lives of people affected by drugs and alcohol misuse for over 35 years. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.The ADS is an equal opportunity employer, committed to diversity. We promote the fair and equal treatment of potential and existing employees and service users. The post will engage with people with substance use problems in both inpatient wards and the Accident and Emergency settings. The successful candidate will provide advice, brief interventions, assessments of risk and need and where appropriate support engagement with specialist treatment service. The role will support positive change in people and reduce their future hospital attendance.The service is available 7 days a week between 8am and 8pm, therefore you must be prepared to work on a rota basis.If you have a relevant degree e.g., psychology, sociology, social work or a Diploma in Adult Care or equivalent this could be the role for you.If you are experienced by working in the field but not have the formal qualifications, we provide a comprehensive package of accredited qualifications and for newly qualified Social Workers we support the ASYE programme. To provide advice, assessment and brief interventions along with some structured key working and make onward referrals to specialist services.
