The Acute Dietitian role at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust involves providing a comprehensive nutrition and dietetic service within the acute setting, including in-patient and out-patient responsibilities. The position offers opportunities to gain experience in various specialist areas such as diabetes, oncology, and paediatric dietetics. The dietitian will be responsible for managing their own caseload, conducting assessments, formulating nutritional treatment plans, and delivering training and education to nursing staff and students.

Working under the guidance of the Acute Dietetic Team leader, the dietitian will respond to referrals, provide specialist nutrition advice, and maintain a holistic approach to patient care, involving families and care agencies as needed. The role includes managing up to four out-patient clinics per month and participating in multidisciplinary collaboration to support the nutritional needs of patients.
