Band 8a: £53,755 to £60,504 a year per annum  FIXED TERM 
Our Deputy Lead Biomedical Scientist is in charge of the day to day management of the Cellular Pathology Laboratory.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a substantive (37.5 hours per week) Band 8a post for a Deputy Biomedical Scientist/Lab Manager in Cellular Pathology to join the dynamic and evolving team within the Cellular pathology department at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful applicant will be well-motivated enthusiastic HCPC registered BMS and must have the IBMS/MSc in Cellular Pathology

The department is IBMS approved for training and has UKAS accreditation to ISO 15189.

Torbay Hospital is situated in Torquay, part of the English Rivera, with spectacular scenery and beaches. The unspoilt wilderness of the Dartmoor National Park is within easy reach.

Our Deputy Lead Biomedical Scientist is in charge of the day to day management of the Cellular Pathology Laboratory. They will play a significant part in overseeing and supervision of the clinical and technical training of all graduate Biomedical Scientists, support workers, Specialist Registrars and Medical students within the department. They will act as the departmental Training Officer, facilitating staff rotation through all sections to ensure competency, overseeing training of junior medical staff and medical students.
