Band 3: £24,071 to £25,674 a year Pro rata  PERMANENT  GOOD SALARY 

At times you may be asked to work in the community to follow patients up after discharge, to review home environments to facilitate discharge or to support the community rehabilitation team at times of low staffing for example.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, innovative, flexible, and well-motivated Therapy Support Worker to join the East Integrated Rehabilitation Team based primarily within the inpatient therapy team at Liskeard Hospital. We are looking for someone with a background in rehabilitation who has in interest in both Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy to develop their skills in these areas.

The post holder will treat patients with varied pathologies and presentations, including a wide variety of conditions e.g. neurological, orthopaedic, respiratory, frailty, and falls. Every contact, treatment plan, and working environment are different bringing variety and challenge to each working day.

At times you may be asked to work in the community to follow patients up after discharge, to review home environments to facilitate discharge or to support the community rehabilitation team at times of low staffing for example. Weekend working may become an operational part of this role in the future.

  • To contribute to the assessment and treatment of patients seen by the East Integrated Rehabilitation Team.

  • To practice as a lone worker
  • To carry out skilled interventions as delegated by senior Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists
  • This will be primarily in Liskeard Hospital but could include other hospital units, or in the community, including the patient's own home. This is may not be directly supervised by the therapist (e.g. practising mobility / gaining confidence / practising activities of daily living).
  • To monitor the patient's response to therapy intervention and report back on the outcome.
  • To encourage patients and carers in an active approach to regaining and maintaining personal independence.
