The Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is hiring a Perinatal Peer Support Worker for The Margaret Oates Mother and Baby Unit. This role is designed for individuals who have lived experience of perinatal mental illness and have achieved a level of recovery that enables them to assist others. The unit provides care for mothers experiencing severe mental illness from 32 weeks gestation to one year postpartum, along with their babies.

The Perinatal Peer Support Worker will play a vital role in the multi-disciplinary team, offering nurturing support and practical assistance to mothers to help them regain control over their lives and strengthen their bond with their babies. They will promote self-determination, help mothers connect with their communities, and serve as a recovery ambassador within the Trust and with partner organisations. Additionally, they will contribute to the development of peer support roles and training programs within the Trust.

Please note that the position does not meet the salary requirements for a Skilled Worker visa.
