The role of Staff Nurse at Wythenshawe Hospital, part of the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, involves a 12-month maternity cover position within the Lung Cancer Directorate, specifically in the chemotherapy day case unit. The successful candidate will provide support to patients undergoing Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) and collaborate with Band 6 and 7 nurses in delivering care. Responsibilities include engaging in education, audit, and research related to lung cancer treatment. The role also offers the opportunity to participate in UKONS SACT passport training to enhance communication skills.

This post is a 12 month Maternity Cover port. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Lung Cancer Directorate at Wythenshawe Hospital as a member of the Cecilia Centre team. The post holder will work on the chemotherapy day case unit and support patients undergoing SACT treatment. The nurse will have responsibility to work within the team in relation to education, audit and research in relation to lung cancer patients.

The Post holder will work alongside the Band 6 & 7 nurses, supporting them in the care and delivery of SACT treatment to patients on the unit. They will be given the opportunity to undertake the UKONS SACT passport training and further their communication skills.
