The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has a fantastic opportunity for aspiring, customer focused, Electrical maintenance professional to be based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary Hospital. Working within a small multi-disciplinary team, the chosen applicant will help maintain the building services infrastructure at one of the Top 10 Hospital Trusts in the U.K.

To install, maintain, service and repair the full range of estates specialist equipment, plant and infrastructure.
Provide technical advice to other estates maintenance staff and contractors to ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.
Undertake condition surveys, evaluates inspection reports
Act in the role of Competent Person/Responsible Person, as defined by Health Technical Memorandum, for at least two of the following areas:
oLow Voltage Electrical Systems
oSpecialist Ventilation
oConfined Spaces
Undertakes condition surveys, evaluates inspection reports.
Candidates must have completed a recognised electrical engineering apprenticeship, be self-motivated with a desire to develop new skills and flexible to meet the demands of a large acute hospital.
Specialist training and support will be provided where necessary with the chosen candidate required to develop into a skilled maintenance technician who may be required to:
Carry out planned preventative maintenance and repairs to the following electrical systems:
Low voltage electrical systems
Fire alarm systems
Nurse call systems
Alarm systems
Carry out electrical installation works.
The role involves shift working covering the site on a 24/7 basis. The shift rota is based on a 5-week pattern.
