The role of Foundation Doctor - Diamond Ward at 455 North London NHS Foundation Trust involves filling vacancies left by unfilled Deanery Foundation year posts. The position is based at Highgate West Mental Health Centre in London, specifically in Diamond Ward, a 17-bed male acute treatment ward specializing in severe mental illnesses such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. The Foundation Doctor will conduct detailed clinical and risk assessments, participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and ward rounds, clerking new patients, and reviewing their mental and physical health. The role also includes ordering investigations, performing physical examinations, and joining the out-of-hours core trainee rota under the supervision of the clinical lead, Dr. Kavinda Gunathillaka. The position may be full-time within Diamond Ward or split between Diamond and another treatment ward.
