The CNTW NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a Trust Search Dog Handler to join their Safety Security & Resilience Team in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This role involves providing dedicated drug search services to various wards and departments within the Trust and other NHS organisations in the North East. The handler will utilize drug search dogs to help eliminate the use and supply of illegal drugs, aiming to reduce anti-social behavior while working closely with law enforcement on drug finds and evidence preservation for prosecution purposes.

In addition to handling the search dog, the post holder will be responsible for the dog’s health and wellbeing, including feeding, grooming, exercising, and maintaining the dog's living conditions. They will also need to ensure the ongoing accreditation and fitness of both themselves and the dog, participating in regular training and assessments to maintain effectiveness during searches across the Trust's facilities.
