Band Doctor - other: £37,068 to £57,570 a year per annum plus London allowance  FIXED TERM  GOOD SALARY 

The post will be based at Kings College Hospital and this will be reviewed within 3 months of the post holder commencing in post.

This is a replacement post. The remit of the postholder/s will be to work within the multi- disciplinary team providing and further developing care for patients within the service. In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the Care Group while having a significant commitment to teaching and training of junior staff.

It is envisaged that the appointee will contribute to the development and delivery of aspects of these services depending upon their interests and experience.

The post will provide substantial experience in all aspects of general and specialist

Hepatology. It would be particularly suitable for individuals who are committed to a career in Hepatology, and have prior experience in the speciality. However, all candidates with an interest in the speciality will be considered.

The successful candidate will be involved in fixed clinical commitments which would be determined by both their clinical training needs and the service requirements of the Institute; an example timetable is outlined below. The post involves rotation through 4 major subspecialties: Liver Transplantation, Liver cancer, Advanced chronic Liver disease and Viral hepatitis.

There is an option for the successful candidate to join the 'out of hours' specialist hepatology and endoscopy rota if suitably qualified following a period of induction. The trainee will always have access to Consultant support during on call periods. The on call rota (1 in 7) will involve taking part in the specialist hepatology rota and does not involve any commitment to acute general medicine.

The successful candidate will also need to provide occasional ward cover during the day when required and there will be an element of administrative duties.

As an employee of the Trust you will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trusts patients.
