The Mental Health Act Coordinator at St Martin's Hospital plays a crucial role in ensuring the lawful care of patients detained under the Mental Health Act. This position requires a highly motivated and experienced individual to champion the Act by providing expert advice and guidance to hospital staff, ensuring adherence to its provisions, and overseeing the implementation of its policies. The coordinator will also deliver comprehensive training to professionals, manage related administrative tasks, and ensure timely compliance with tribunal appeals and documentation.

In this role, the successful candidate will need a strong understanding of the Mental Health Act and relevant legislation, as well as experience in its application. They will be responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legal frameworks, overseeing a part-time staff member, and implementing effective processes to uphold the standards set by the Act across the Canterbury locality within the Kent & Medway NHS & Social Care Partnership Trust.
