This is an exciting opportunity to join our busy Acute Medicine Department at Kings Mill Hospital. We are looking to recruit a self-motivated, innovative individual with excellent attention to detail.
In this apprenticeship, you will thrive in a dynamic office setting, making it suitable for individuals with strong organisational and time management skills. Working under the supervision of the acute medical secretaries and operations support officer; you will develop a comprehensive understanding and proficiency in all aspects of Acute Medicine administration work.
The successful apprentice will undertake a Business Administration Apprenticeship Level 3 qualification and will be employed directly by Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust for the duration of the apprenticeship, with possible progression opportunities beyond.

- To provide administrative and secretarial services across the Acute Medicine Department.
- Support the Department with cross-cover responsibilities for our teams, including providing a communicative link for internal and external enquiries.
- Data entry into Trust systems.
- Assist with and manage the diaries of the Consultants within the team.
- Support with departmental meetings.
- Supporting the Records Assistants to ensure all filing is completed promptly and timely.
- To support general office duties such as photocopying, filing and taking telephone messages and passing them on efficiently.
- To shadow the Acute Medicine professionals to gain insight and knowledge of the role.
- Any other reasonable duties consistent with the role.
