The role of Trust Doctor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ST1) at Ashford with East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust involves working within a comprehensive Maxillofacial Unit equipped with advanced facilities. The position primarily focuses on patient care at the William Harvey Hospital, including attending outpatient clinics, performing minor oral surgeries, and managing patients admitted for maxillofacial procedures. The doctor will also participate in surgical operations, including dento-alveolar, salivary gland, cancer, free flap, and orthognathic surgeries.

Additional responsibilities include sharing an on-call duty with a shift system of 1:8, covering the dedicated head and neck ward and addressing emergency cases in the operating theatre as necessary. The role may require occasional visits to other hospitals for day surgeries and clinics, ensuring experience across a variety of surgical settings and patient cases.
