An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Deputy Sister / Charge Nurse on our Acute Cardiac Unit at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Acute Cardiac Unit (ACU) is a thriving busy acute Cardiology unit consisting of 20 beds and caring for those patient's in their acute phase of their cardiac illness. We care for a variety of patients with Cardiac conditions and take patients from a variety of sources: home, ED, teriarty centres, Gp, clinics. We care for patients requiring up to level 2 cardiology cares and take those requiring emergency or urgent admission.
ACU is a 20 bed acute Cardiology admissions unit. We Care for those patients that are very sick, with many Level 2 patients whilst also taking acute cardiology admissions direct from home, GP, other tertiary centres and other wards and admission areas within the trust. We have a direct admission pathway for our PPCI patients and have recently expanded to take severely Bradycardia patients via our Bradycardia pathway direct to the unit in order to relieve bed flow pressure through ED. We care for patients with many various cardiac conditions who require various treatments and procedures such as Angioplasty, ablations, TAVI, PPM and ICD insertions.

We would love to welcome you to an interview for ACU if you have previous acute Cardiology experience, can take charge of a busy acute admission unit whilst delivering optimal patient care and providing excellent leadership on the unit when in charge. We would also expect you to have your ALS course so you can take charge and carry the cardiac arrest bleep. You will need to be able to interpret ECG's as you will be triaging PPCI and Emergency Bradycardia patients over the emergency phone.
If you are keen, motivated, adaptable, excellent a communication and cope well under pressure, ACU is the place for you.
