St Bartholomew's Hospital is recruiting an experienced critical care nurse to join our senior nursing team as matron. The postholder will work alongside other Matrons, Senior Nurse and Associate Director of Nursing together with other multiprofessional colleagues.
Applicants should have extensive nurse leadership experience in a large adult critical care unit and be able to demonstrate clinical credibility. The ability to provide visible clinical leadership, inspire others and demonstrate compassionate leadership is essential for the role.
The adult critical care unit (ACCU) at St Bartholomew's hospital is currently funded for 53 beds (40 x Level 3 & 13 x Level 2) across four clinical areas, bringing together a wide range of expertise in clinical care, research, and education for cardiovascular and complex cancer conditions.
Professional development for all our team remains a key priority, there is access to a wide range of leadership and clinical development opportunities, both within the Trust, the North East London Adult Critical Care Network and with partner education institutes. We have successfully introduced clinical academic pathways within critical care, actively encourage research and have the support of our Director of Research and Innovation.
The role will also contribute to the hospital nursing leadership team with the opportunity to undertake hospital wide duties and responsibilities.
To oversee the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care focused on improving outcomes and experiences for patients, families and carers.
Deliver and actively contribute to the key performance indicators relates to the sites "safe and compassionate" quality improvement plans, this includes local and site wide quality improvements work streams.
Take responsibility for the continuing professional development and education of
registered and non-registered staff within ACCU at St Bartholomew's hospital.
