We require an enthusiastic individual who can work within the Portering Services team at the Northern General Hospital and offer flexibility to cover all Portering related tasks including Charge-hand and driving duties.
- The transfer of patients from all wards and departments, in beds, wheelchairs or Stretcher or via the internal Ambulance NGH ONLY making sure patient is secure to travel.
- Move patients with assistance and instruction from professional staff. This includes the occasional movement of patients with valuables under the supervision of the nursing staff.
- Transfer deceased patients to Mortuary, ensuring all equipment is clean after use.
- Removal of waste from all depts and wards.
- Postal duties.
- Assist with viewing out of hours. when requested by Duty Matron.
- Driving duties plus -Check and clean vehicles as instructed.
- Laundry collection / delivery.
- Sharpmart deliveries / collection.
- Act under instruction from medical/nursing staff in the event of a cardiac arrest or other emergencies i.e. Fire Alert.
