This is a temporary bank position as a Second Chef at Barchester Healthcare, a leading UK healthcare provider with over 224 homes and hospitals. The role involves assisting the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well-balanced menus for residents while maintaining high hospitality standards. As a Second Chef at Barchester, you will have the opportunity to work with fresh, seasonal ingredients and deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the long hours and split shifts typical of the sector. You will work closely with the Head Chef to develop menus that cater to the needs and preferences of the residents, while also maintaining high quality and efficiency in the kitchen. The role requires a personable and warm approach, good understanding of nutrition, and the ability to work within budget and lead a team.

As this is a Bank position to provide cover as and when we need it, such as for annual leave or sick leave, the hours and days you work will vary.

NEED TO HAVE

A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent Experience in helping lead and inspire a team A good understanding of nutrition Experience of working with fresh seasonal food The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home Good understanding of HACCP
