Due to the continued development and expansion of the Pre-Operative Assessment Unit an exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic experienced Band 5 Staff Nurse to become part of a well-established and progressive team.
A challenging and busy environment the Pre-Operative Assessment Service works within UHB as a specialist team, assessing a wide group of patients prior to surgery. You will be expected to uphold and ensure that high standards of care and professionalism are maintained and delivered.
This is an autonomous role where the post holder will be responsible for the assessment of care needs of patients and planning programmes of care, implementation, and the evaluation of these programmes without direct supervision.

You will be appointed a mentor to support you in your new role and further training will be provided for clinical examination (heart and lung assessment). This is an exciting role for an experienced Registered Nurse to work closely with patients to help plan their surgical journey working closely with senior colleagues to ensure that patients are safe to undergo surgery and anaesthesia.
