This is a temporary Bank Support Worker role at Elysium Healthcare's rehabilitation and recovery service in Abergavenny, Wales. The role involves providing care and support to people with a range of mental health conditions, with a focus on helping them lead a valued and fulfilled life. Candidates should have experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker, or Care Worker, and demonstrate a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance.
As a Bank Support Worker, you will join a team that works together to provide care for people with mental health conditions. You will utilize your experience to support service users through every stage of their recovery journey within the hospital's five individual units. The role can be challenging at times, but it is highly rewarding to see people improve and be able to do things they couldn't do before, thanks to your support. There is no minimum number of hours that you need to work, although it is recommended to work as often as you can to ensure your induction knowledge and familiarity with the service is retained.
Weekdays, nights and weekend shifts are regularly available, which are easy to view and book through an app. Within a few taps you’ll have the shifts at T Gwyn Hall secured that you want.
Whether your experience is from the NHS or private sector, you can join the team as a Bank Healthcare Assistant with an hourly rate that includes a 12.07% uplift to cover annual leave, plus have access to a range of benefits including free meals on duty, free parking and more.
What you will be doing
You will join the team that works well together to provide care for people with Mental Health conditions. Whether you are currently a Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker or Care Worker, you will utilise your experience to support people to lead a valued and fulfilled life.

The service operates 24/7 with 12.5 hour standard shifts. As a Healthcare Assistant on our bank you’ll be on a zero hour contract, giving you the freedom to choose which shifts you want to work each week.

Location: Llantilio Pertholey, Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, Wales, NP7 6NY
You will be working at a rehabilitation and recovery service for people who have been diagnosed with a range of mental health conditions.Working as part of the experienced multi-disciplinary team, you will support service users through every stage of their recovery journey within the hospital’s five individual units.
Situated in the Brecon Beacons National Park and close to the market town of Abergavenny, South Wales, the hospital is within easy reach of the M4, M5 and national rail networks.
