Please expand the job details section and read all of the information before applying for the vacancy NO AGENCIES PLEASE The Breast Unit is a busy department working within both the National Breast Screening service and a Symptomatic Breast service. The ability to work both in a team and independently, and to communicate in a wide variety of settings, is essential. The Newcastle Breast Screening Service delivers a screening service to a large rural area therefore a current driving licence and access to a car is essential. Applicants for the above post must hold a degree in Diagnostic or Therapeutic Radiography, be HCPC registered and have working knowledge of NHS policies and procedures. A postgraduate qualification in Mammographic studies or equivalent as approved by NHS Breast Screening Programme is also essential. "The requirement for a female to undertake this role is a Genuine Occupational Qualification and is exempt under section 7(2) of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975, superseded by The Equality Act 2010." About us To work in the Breast Screening and Assessment Centre based at the RVI and in the community on 3 breast screening trailers that move around the North East region. To be part of a team delivering a high quality efficient and effective radiographic service, to make an informed decision on the diagnostic images required and demonstrate a professional, caring and responsible approach to patients. There is a potential commitment to evening and weekend working. In collaboration with the Superintendent Radiographer, provide a screening, assessment and symptomatic service whilst helping to sustain and develop effective working relationships in close collaboration with professional colleagues.
