The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a qualified Level 2 Nursery Nurse for a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) in Reading, working Monday to Friday. The primary responsibility of the Nursery Nurse is to support the development and operation of the Day Nursery, ensuring that children receive exceptional care in a safe, clean, and stimulating environment. The position emphasises meeting the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social needs of the children while promoting inclusivity and encouraging parental involvement.
In addition to providing direct care, the Nursery Nurse will assist in supervising and training students and NVQ trainees, participate in ongoing professional development, and help plan age-appropriate activities. The role requires maintaining accurate child profiles, fostering a collaborative team atmosphere, and contributing to the overall domestic management of the nursery to ensure safety and cleanliness.

This position is for someone who is looking for full time work (37.5hours), working 5 days a week from Monday to Friday
The objective of the Nursery Nurse is to assist in the development and running of the Day Nursery, to provide outstanding day care for the children in a safe, clean and stimulating environment.
The aim is to provide the best possible day care children at the nursery, which meets their physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs in a non-discriminatory manner.

- To assist in the supervising and training of students and NVQ trainees sent to the nursery from time to time, as delegated
- To attend seminars, training courses and exhibitions to keep abreast of developments in all aspects of child care practice and policy, to ensure that modern, innovated and forward looking practices are maintained: and personal career development
- To assist in the planning of appropriate programmes of activities for the under 5s, relevant to their age and stage of development, to discuss other matters relevant to the staff and children and ensure appropriate records are kept.
- To act as key person to allocated children and ensure that their profiles and any other paperwork needed is kept up to date
- To work effectively as part of a team on a daily basis. Providing a happy, effective working environment.
- To assist in the daily domestic management of the nursery: including ensuring that the nursery is kept safe, secure and clean at all times
