An opportunity has arisen for a motivated registered nurse to join our small, friendly and dedicated pre-assessment team within the women and newborn care group at the Princess Anne Hospital.
The pre-assessment clinic assesses and prepares patients for surgery within the breast and gynaecology pathways. The department works Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm, with potential for Saturday working. The applicant needs to be able to work flexibly within these hours.

The post holder will work closely with a multi-professional team across: Outpatients Breast imaging unit early pregnancy/gynae assessment unit hysteroscopy/colposcopy Bramshaw womens unit Theatres
Your role will be crucial to ensuring an excellent patient experience throughout their pathway to ascertain their suitability for anaesthetic.
As a nurse practitioner you will be responsible for the case management of patients through pre-operative assessment and peri-operative care pathways assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care.
You will need to practice and develop advanced nursing skills e.g. History taking, Physical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, venepuncture, ECGs, order and understand investigative tests, utilise patient group directives as indicated.
You will be required to share the shift management of the pre-operative assessment area and deputise for the senior nurse practitioner/manager as required.
We are looking for a caring, motivated individual who possess excellent communication skills and embraces our Trust values.
You should have the ability to work under pressure and maintain judgement.
You require clinical skills relevant to speciality to include clinical assessment skills eg History Taking and Physical Assessment course.
Experience in, or an understanding of, womens health would be advantageous.
