The Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a motivated registered nurse to join their Stoma Care Team, serving both hospital and community settings in Birkenhead. The Stoma Care Nurse will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients undergoing stoma surgery, including pre and post-operative support. The role involves identifying complications, providing treatment options, assisting in the development of clinical services, and acting as a resource for education and training in both primary and secondary care environments.

Additionally, the nurse will communicate complex clinical information sensitively to patients and their families, conduct research and clinical audits to enhance patient care effectiveness, and share findings within professional groups. Accurate record-keeping and evaluating care outcomes are essential components of this role, which aims to improve the overall quality of stoma care provided to patients and their caregivers.
