The East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Healthcare Support Worker for the Woolverstone Macmillan Centre in Ipswich, specializing in outpatient haemato-oncology services. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and innovative, ready to work in a fast-paced clinical environment, assisting with consultations and patient care. Key responsibilities include performing clinical tasks such as venepuncture, ECGs, and monitoring vital signs, while ensuring patients' physical, psychological, and social needs are met. Candidates should have a care certificate and proven care experience, as well as phlebotomy training or a willingness to complete it.
This role offers flexible hours, either full or part-time, within the clinic’s operational hours of Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 18:00. The position emphasises effective communication and compassion, as the Senior Healthcare Support Worker will interact with patients, visitors, and the multidisciplinary team to uphold the dignity and respect of all individuals in care. Training and development opportunities will be provided to support the continued growth of cancer services within the trust.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join the team on the Woolverstone Macmillan Centre. This is a great opportunity to join a fantastic outpatient haemato-oncology service.
You will be an enthusiastic, innovative senior healthcare support worker where you will work in the busy, fast paced environment of the Oncology and Haematology clinics. You will have the opportunity to work alongside consultation clinics, utilising your skills to assist our patients.
For this role you will need to have achieve your care certificate and have proven care experience. You will need to have completed or working towards phlebotomy training. Further training will be provided in-house and you will have the opportunity for learning and development.

This role will be full or part time, with hours worked between the centre's hours of: Monday - Friday 08.00 - 18.00.
Interviews will be held on 13th November 2024.
- Undertake a range of identified and delegated clinical care duties relevant to clinics, including venepuncture, phlebotomy, ecg, taking blood pressure, blood glucose monitoring
- To welcome patients and visitors to the clinic / ward, ensuring they are orientated and aware of hospital routines and facilities
- To care for the patient to ensure their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs are met
- To assist the wider MDT with clinical procedures, acting as a chaperone if necessary
- To communicate effectively with patients, carers, visitors and other staff members at all times, ensuring communication and care provision maintains the dignity and respect of all patients and their carers/relatives.
