The Sterile Services Technician at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust will be responsible for providing specialized reprocessing of surgical instruments across the Trust and to external clients, adhering to ISO13485 standards and other quality management protocols. The role requires participation in a duty rota that includes evening shifts, weekends, Bank Holidays, and on-call duties.
Key responsibilities include the disassembly, decontamination, packing, sterilisation, and dispatch of instruments following the department's quality systems and mandatory health and safety regulations. The technician is expected to maintain a thorough understanding of the department's Quality Policy, Quality Manual, and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure high standards of work.

To work as a member of the Sterile Services Team providing highly specialised surgical instrument reprocessing to all areas across the Trust, Community and to our external clients in line with ISO13485 standards and other Quality Management System work instructions.
- To participate in a duty rota which includes weekday evening shifts, weekends, Bank Holidays and on call commitments.
- Disassembly, checking, decontamination, packing, sterilisation and dispatching of instruments following specified procedures as prescribed by the departments Quality System while complying at all times with Health and Safety, Control of Infection and other mandatory requirements
