Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Senior Clinical Coder to join their expanding team in Crewe. The role involves accurately abstracting complex clinical information from patient health records and translating this into alpha-numerical codes using ICD-10 and OPCS classifications, adhering to national standards. The ideal candidate should possess expert knowledge of clinical coding rules, medical terminology, and anatomy, as well as experience in multiple medical specialties.

In addition to performing complex coding tasks, the post holder will mentor and train less experienced coders, allocate their work, and promote awareness of clinical coding throughout the organisation. Responsibilities also include participating in coding meetings, liaising with various departments to enhance confidence in coded data, and contributing to continuous quality improvement in coding processes. The position requires strong teamwork and independent working skills, as well as the ability to troubleshoot coding issues effectively.
