The role of Staff Nurse at St Bartholomew's Hospital, part of Barts Health NHS Trust in London, involves providing high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients within a complex acute environment, specifically in the cardiac catheterisation lab (Cath Lab). Nurses will have the opportunity to rotate through various specialties such as Cardiology Intervention, Electrophysiology, and Structural, while receiving in-house training to develop advanced clinical skills, including Implantable Loop Recorders, Nurse-Led Sedation, and Valve Loader procedures.

The position emphasises collaborative working within a multidisciplinary team, as well as supervisory responsibilities for junior staff and learners. The Trust supports ongoing professional development, aided by a dedicated Education Sister. St Bartholomew's Hospital, the oldest hospital site in England, is home to world-leading cardiac and cancer centres, providing state of the art treatment to our patients in the very heart of the City of London. We offer robotic surgery, ECMO, complex electrophysiology and are a leading provider of stem cell transplantation and immunotherapy for cancer treatment.

You will have an opportunity to rotate internally between Cardiology Intervention, Electrophysiology & Structural in order to develop a full range of skills and be supported with in house training.

We have created exciting opportunities for experienced Cath Lab nurses to develop clinically in advanced nursing practices such as Implantable Loop recorders Implantations, Nurse-Led Sedation and Valve loader.

You will be expected to take an active role in helping us to continuously improve our patient centred care.

Our cath lab is lucky enough to have their own dedicated Education Sister who supports all staff in their development and works closely with new starters.
