Band 7: £51,883 to £58,544 a year Pro rata pa incl HCAS (outer London)  PERMANENT  GOOD SALARY

Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Specialist Health Visitor will be responsible for leading and developing Perinatal and Infant Mental Health pathways, sharing your knowledge and skills through the staff training and supervision across the Croydon PHN 0 - 19 service. You will be supported to access the iHV Perinatal Mental Health Champion training to enhance your knowledge and skills required to deliver packages of training in-house for staff development and update, embedding this within the under 5 of the 0 - 19 service.

Your role will ensure that quality and improvement are maintained through the quarterly audit and evaluation of PIMH service pathways.

As the service Specialist Health Visitor, you will work collaboratively with other services as necessary, using your experience and skills to build therapeutic relationships with families and work closely with our stakeholders in Croydon to deliver packages of care to this client group.

The emphasis will be on early intervention, prevention of mental health difficulties, and the promotion of positive relationships between parents and their infants following an holistic assessment.

You will be required to provide leadership in the latest research and evidence based practice in your specialist role and ensure effective dissemination to all Public health nursing staff to ensure the efficient delivery of the Healthy Child Programme.

The Specialist Health Visitor will:

  • Provide a link between Health Visitors, Midwives, GPs, Adult and Child Mental Health.

Services and other agencies in relation to families where there

  • Are challenges to the parent infant relationship and where there are significant mental health issues.
  • Liaise with other services to improve perinatal and infant mental service provision for these families and promote integration of services.
  • Develop comprehensive care pathways for women and families affected by mild, moderate and severe maternal mental health problems in active collaboration with colleagues. specialist mental health services and other providers of mental health services (e.g. GPs, midwives, IAPT services,3rd sector organisations).
  • Participate in any professional and family meetings where appropriate

To be responsible for quality assurance, training and development for Croydon Public health Nursing, embedding evidence based practice.

To act as a resource for the service according to the HV service model as a specialist, providing expert knowledge.

To work collaboratively with key stakeholders to develop joint pathways.
