The Specialist Health Visitor - Perinatal & Infant Mental Health role at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust involves leading and developing mental health pathways for perinatal and infant care, with a focus on staff training and supervision within the Croydon Public Health Nursing (PHN) 0-19 service. This position requires the successful candidate to access specialized training, ensuring the effective dissemination of best practices and evidence-based care within the Healthy Child Programme. The Specialist Health Visitor will collaborate closely with a range of stakeholders, including midwives, GPs, and mental health services, to provide comprehensive support for families facing mental health challenges.

Responsibilities include building therapeutic relationships with families, conducting holistic assessments, and ensuring quality improvement through audits of service pathways. The role emphasises early intervention and the promotion of positive parent-infant relationships, while also contributing to the integration of services and the development of care pathways for maternal mental health issues. The Specialist Health Visitor will serve as a resource and expert within the health visiting team, fostering collaboration across different agencies to enhance care for affected families.
