The Clinical Psychologist Band 8a position at Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust involves a split role focused on Behçet's disease (22.5 hours) and general medicine (15 hours) in Birmingham and Wolverhampton. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide psychological support to individuals with Behçet’s, addressing the psychological impacts of this autoimmune condition. Additionally, they will provide psychological care across various physical health specialties, including diabetes and cardiology, offering complex assessments, individual therapy, and supervision to other professionals. The role emphasises leadership in training, service development, and the integration of psychological perspectives into clinical practice.

The Clinical Psychologist will be responsible for conducting specialist assessments, formulating therapy plans, and delivering advanced psychological interventions for clients with complex needs. This includes risk assessment and management responsibilities, as well as ensuring the safeguarding of vulnerable populations. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to service evaluation, redesign, and the enhancement of comprehensive psychological care within a dynamic health psychology service environment.
