The Tobacco Dependency Advisor position at Colchester Hospital with Provide CIC involves supporting patients attending A&E under the COSTED Pilot Programme by offering smoking cessation advice and assistance. The advisor will engage with inpatients to provide recommendations for Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) and apply behavior change techniques to help patients make complex lifestyle adjustments, such as goal setting and confidence building.

Key responsibilities include conducting assessments, managing caseloads, and ensuring referrals to Enhanced Wellness Services (EWS) after discharge to sustain progress. The role requires strong collaboration with acute hospital staff to effectively manage smoking cessation initiatives. Internal candidates may be considered for secondment into this role.
