The Marshside Surgery in Southport is seeking a Medical Receptionist for a 15-hour fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave, with potential for flexible cover during sickness and holidays. The regular shifts are Monday (13:30-18:30), Tuesday (08:00-13:00), and Friday (13:30-18:30). Candidates should possess strong customer service skills and computing ability, as they will be the first point of contact for patients, handling inquiries both in person and over the phone. Responsibilities include managing incoming calls, addressing patient queries, booking appointments, registering new patients, and requesting repeat medications. Full training will be provided, and the successful applicant will work alongside a small team and report to the deputy practice manager.
We're looking to hire someone with fantastic customer service/patient handling skills, and strong computing ability to work as part of our reception team at Marshside Surgery. This role is a 15 hour fixed term contract covering maternity leave. The successful applicant will be expected to provide flexible sickness and holiday cover through the week where needed. The regular shifts would be Monday 13:30-18:30, Tuesday 08:00-13:00 and Friday 13:30-18:30 and are set at the moment though this could change in the future. Full training will be provided when starting in the position.
You'll be the first point of contact for patients getting in touch with the practice, whether that's in person, or over the phone.
You'll be expected to take patient information and deal with it in a confidential manner, and point them in the right direction to resolve their enquires.
