£11.44 to £11.75 an hour The salary will increase upon passing probation  FIXED TERM  GOOD SALARY 

We're looking to hire someone with fantastic customer service/patient handling skills, and strong computing ability to work as part of our reception team at Marshside Surgery. This role is a 15 hour fixed term contract covering maternity leave. The successful applicant will be expected to provide flexible sickness and holiday cover through the week where needed. The regular shifts would be Monday 13:30-18:30, Tuesday 08:00-13:00 and Friday 13:30-18:30 and are set at the moment though this could change in the future. Full training will be provided when starting in the position.

You'll be the first point of contact for patients getting in touch with the practice, whether that's in person, or over the phone.

You'll be expected to take patient information and deal with it in a confidential manner, and point them in the right direction to resolve their enquires.

You will be working as part of a small reception and admin team, alongside six other members of staff and will report to the deputy practice manager.

Main duties

  • Dealing with incoming phone calls
  • Patient queries at the desk
  • Booking appointments
  • Refilling stock
  • Registering new patients
  • Calling patients from the task list
  • Requesting repeat medications
