As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll be responsible for ensuring the care home environment is clean, well-maintained, and welcoming for residents and staff. You'll have a hands-on approach, undertaking a wide range of maintenance tasks, leading a team, and liaising with contractors. Your priority will be the wellbeing of the residents, and you'll need to be reliable, flexible, and IT literate.

In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining the care home building, gardens, and grounds to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents. You'll undertake a variety of tasks, from fixing a leaky tap to planting bulbs, and you'll also lead a team and support the General Manager with annual budget planning. Liaising with contractors on jobs outside your team's expertise will also be part of your responsibilities.

You can expect plenty of variety as a Head of Maintenance with us. You'll turn your hand to all sorts of tasks within the care home building as well as in the gardens and grounds. You should be comfortable working alone, leading a team and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. We'll also need you to liaise with contractors on jobs that fall outside the expertise of your team.

ABOUT YOUThe wellbeing of our residents will be your number one priority as a Head of Maintenance at Barchester you'll make sure all work is carried out with sensitivity to their needs. With hands-on experience of property maintenance, you'll have at least one trade skill and, ideally, a proven ability to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks. You should be reliable and flexible when it comes to your working hours. This role also calls for a full UK driving licence, IT literacy and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).
