The following are the core responsibilities of the Reception Team:

  • Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system.
  • Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with callers' requests appropriately.
  • Signpost patients to the correct service.
  • Initiating contact with responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies.
  • Clinically code data on Emis.
  • Photocopy documentation as required.
  • Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required.
  • Input data into patients' healthcare records as necessary.
  • Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area always.
  • Support clinical staff with general tasks as requested.
  • Action incoming emails and correspondents as necessary.
  • Scan patient related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients' healthcare records.
  • Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota.
  • As required support Dispensary in the management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed and accurately and efficiently.

We have a number of openings within our Reception Team at Evelyn Medical Centre.

We are located in Hope Valley in the stunning Peak District which has stunning views for your journey to work. You will have busy but varied days which is well supported by a friendly team and a cup of tea!

We are currently looking to recruit both full and part time team members.

It is the responsibility of each receptionist to assist in the smooth running of the Practice in general, and the reception area, and to project a positive and friendly image to our patients and other professionals who may contact us either in person, via email or via telephone.

To facilitate patients accessing the clinical care provided by the practice.

To support the GPs and Nurses in providing that care.

To act as first point of contact for anyone accessing the practice
