Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust is seeking motivated individuals for the Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) Apprenticeship in Birmingham. This role offers a unique opportunity to start a healthcare career by working in various clinical settings, including surgical and medical wards, paediatrics, maternity, and theatres. HCSWs play a crucial role in patient care under the supervision of healthcare professionals, assisting with personal care, mobility, meals, and housekeeping duties, while also performing patient observations. The apprenticeship will be facilitated by Walsall College, allowing employees to complete their training within working hours.

Applicants must be over 18, possess a basic understanding of care and compassion, and hold Math and English qualifications at GCSE level A-C or Functional Skills Level 2. Additionally, they should be UK residents for three years or more. Responsibilities include maintaining health and safety standards, covering housekeeping duties when necessary, adhering to Trust policies, and participating in research and performance management activities.
