The Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a compassionate and adaptable Healthcare Assistant for the Outpatients department in Sittingbourne. This role is integral to providing essential care within a nurse-led environment at Sheppey Community Hospital and Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital, focusing on holistic rehabilitation for patients needing additional support or those nearing the end of life.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you'll be expected to work collaboratively with a team to ensure the safety and well-being of patients, many of whom may be elderly or recently discharged from acute care. Responsibilities include monitoring care quality, implementing care plans, and providing feedback to management, all while fostering a supportive atmosphere for patients and their families. The role requires confidence in making independent decisions under the guidance of nursing staff, emphasizing the importance of individual patient experiences and outcomes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Healthcare Assistant to join our caring and progressive teams working across 2 sites, Sheppey Community Hospital and Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital

Our hospitals are nurse-led and focus on holistic rehabilitation and therapy for people who need extra help to get home, or who are nearing the end of their life.

It's a relaxed atmosphere, but it's never a breeze - you'll need to think on your feet and be confident in making independent decisions on behalf of the patients in your care, under the direction of the nurse in charge.

Our community hospital Healthcare Assistants provide essential care in an in-patient setting. The work you do will be crucial to the running of our hospital and the recovery of our patients.

As a community hospital Healthcare Assistant, you'll:

Work as part of a team to provide care to local patients and families
monitor the quality of care they're receiving
provide feedback to managers on the quality of care.

Your patients could be any age, but they'll often be elderly, while others may have been recently discharged from acute hospital, be terminally ill or have physical disabilities.

As a Healthcare Assistant you will work as part of a team to keep people safe and well during their stay. You will carry out care plans designed to support people and make sure that people who use our services have a good experience.
