The role of Senior Nursery Officer at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in Harefield involves taking an active part in leading a dedicated nursery team, focusing on the care and education of children aged 5 months to 5 years. The position requires planning and implementing age-appropriate activities based on EYFS guidance, as well as developing and mentoring staff within the assigned age group. The Senior Nursery Officer will also support the management team in various tasks, stepping into leadership roles when necessary and serving as a safeguarding lead in the manager's absence.
In addition to fostering a positive partnership with parents and carers, the Senior Nursery Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with operational policies, addressing safeguarding concerns promptly, and promoting children's health and safety. Regular team meetings will be held to facilitate collaboration and support within the nursery, ensuring that all children's individual needs are met effectively.

- To develop and support the staff with in your allocated age room.
- To plan age appropriate activities for children aged 5 months to 5 years using the EYFS guidance
- To support the management team with tasks delegated.
- In the absence of the management team, to step up and take on the additional responsibilities.
- To be a named safeguarding lead in the absence of the manager
